One person that showed a tremendous amount of loyalty for his beliefs was that of Daniel from the bible. Daniel lived in a time where one would be persecuted for one's beliefs and even put to death. Like Socrates, Daniel was put on death row for disrupting to order of that society. Daniel Believed and trusted in God and the King of that society served an idol God. Daniel was ordered to bow to the idol God but wouldnt do it because of his love for God. The King asked him plenty of times to bow and not pray to God, but he continued. Daniel was then arrested and sentenced to death because of his stubborness in his ways.Death was Daniel's destiny, and he was ok with that. He was sentenced to the Lions Den.
Daniel was thrown into a deep pit with the most ferocious and dangerous lions. The king ordered A big boulder over top of the pit so he couldnt escape. Daniel prayed to God for protection and deliverance from the lions den. The next morning the King and his guards removed the boulder expecting to see Daniel ripped to shreds. To his surprise, Daniel was sleeping with the Lions and God protected him all night. The King then realized the power of God and ordered all the people of the land to Worship Daniel's God.Like Socrates, Daniel made a decision to stick up for what he believed and he was rewarded for that.
